Jacinta was at the gym, her daily routine, and doing kipping pull-ups, when she had her accident.
"I was quite tired," she says, "I kicked backwards and fell." Jacinta hit a bench behind her, landing on her head. She feared she'd broken her neck.
"When I heard the chopper, I was relieved and thankful," Jacinta says, "I was in a lot of pain." With the Kopu-Hikuai Road out, she was dreading the long road trip to hospital. Still recovering, Jacinta suffered ligament damage but, thankfully, didn't break any bones. "The rescue helicopter is so vital to the Coromandel," she says.
