Alex Prego’s Story

Alex Prego’s Story

In November last year, following a car accident in the early hours of the morning in Cheviot, I woke up at the Christchurch Public Hospital having been in a coma for 5 days. From there I was taken to Burwood Hospital by a rescue helicopter. I only learnt about my chopper ride later as I was unconscious throughout the flight so never saw the chopper team. At some point, I’d like to see the crew of the helicopter to say THANK YOU to each of them and give them all a great big hug. The photo I have uploaded was taken a few days ago in the dinner room of Burwood Hospital in Christchurch. I’m standing beside an oil painting my mother did and I gave to the hospital as a gift.

During my stay, Burwood Hospital asked me to make a video of my experience, the youtube link for this is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16dBxCFKrjo&feature=g-upl
